OUKA V1.3 — The Washitsu Architectural Masterpiece
thirty pieces of a Japanese room, and a factory that runs itself
OUKA's next update, V1.3 "The Washitsu Architectural Masterpiece", is being built now. The floors and structure are built, the sliding screens are under way, and the second industrial update follows. Planned for 17 October; timing and contents may change.
01 / 05Floors and structure: igusa tatami that lie in pairs with a choice of borders, borderless Ryukyu mats that form a checkerboard, polished hinoki engawa, a grooved cedar ceiling, Juraku earthen plaster and kamoi lintels.
02 / 05Sliding screens and partitions: shoji and gold-leaf fusuma that glide along their rails, a carved ranma, a four-panel gold byobu, roll-up bamboo sudare and an indigo noren that parts as you walk through.
03 / 05Furniture, tokonoma and garden: a zelkova chabudai, a zabuton and zaisu to sit on, a paulownia tansu, a matcha set, a lacquered jubako, a kakejiku that changes with the seasons, an incense burner, lanterns, a shishi-odoshi that fills, tips and knocks, a Nambu iron furin and a kaya go board.
04 / 05Industrial update, part 2: a 32-block Matter Transceiver you pair in two clicks with a Resonance Linker (one sender, up to four receivers, through walls, with a beam of light between them), a Resonant Miner that mines with the tool you give it — Silk Touch and Fortune included — and an I/O Bus that draws items straight out of the quantum silo.
05 / 05Also: a hopper that moves a stack every tick, a cobblestone synthesizer, a 3×3 micro-crafter, fluid pipes, a mob grinder that stores experience in capsules, a pocket terminal that opens the silo from anywhere, and an accelerator pylon for OUKA machines.
